Hello! My
name is Juan José Villaverde. I love Research!
Currently,
I am working at the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and
Technology - INIA (Spain). However, I have also worked within the Spanish
research system at the Univ. Santiago Compostela, Univ. La Coruña and
Autonomous Univ. Madrid. I have also long research experience at institutions
of other countries, i.e. KTH Royal Inst. Technology (Sweden), Univ. Aveiro
(Portugal), Istituto di Struttura della Materia (Italy) and Univ. Paul Sabatier
(France).
My main research
interests are focused on the new tools, i.e., computational, modeling, statistical and analytical tools, for both risk assessment/characterization of plant
protection products (especially of their transformation products) as
contaminants of environmental compartments and characterization of novel
valuable compounds from/for/in the agriculture. In this sense, I have added significantly to the fields of
plant protection products and crops through statistical and chemical modeling, computational
quantum chemistry, quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR), informatics,
analytical methods and environmental technologies.
This blog
is my personal way to present the results of the research that I have developed
during these years to anyone who want to know it. People interested in collaborations,
networks or new researches are welcome to contact me.
